Newbies and Sales

It's been a seriously busy couple of weeks. My apologies for the lack of news. Here are some pictures of the pretties I've launched in the last week.

I must put one in my purse!

Just in time for fall.

Sold out quickly, but don't worry! I'll be adding more this week :)

Travel size.

Smells so good!

Rave reviews received!

I am very excited about being able to offer new and different things. Everything can be found in my ArtFire shop and my Etsy shop with all the info and more pictures.

There is a shopwide event in both places as well. ArtFire reflects the 10% sale and Etsy sales will have the discount refunded via Paypal. This even includes custom orders!

There is also a giveaway going on at CJ & Vox's Twitter so be sure to click the follow button!

The only other news for now is that I will have 10 more zipper pouches in my shop by the end of the week. And maybe another lip balm flavor :) STAY TUNED.

Busy, busy

I feel as if I've been neglecting this blog and my shop! But that's probably because I have been. I have had several custom orders that were multiples, so even my husband and child are having a hard time remembering what I look like ;)

This past week has been especially busy. A friend of mine surprised me with the biggest order I've ever received and then she blessed me on top of that with an investment into my business. It was an investment the size of the "To Do" lists I've been accumulating. I even bought my man dinner and got a few needed essentials (jeans that fit) that I've been in denial about needing. For me, money = bills and pantry. My grandmas know me well enough to write in my cards a note about spending my birthday money on myself, not on the house. I try to listen. It's very hard.

On my Twitter and Facebook page I posted a question as to which lip balm flavor is your favorite. I got a great response and broke down and ordered some flavor oils. I vowed I would NEVER do that (seriously, haven't I learned to stop telling myself I'll NEVER do something yet?!) because I figured you could get pretty smelly stuff filled with yucky chemicals and creepy preservatives anywhere. Why would I want to make you something like that? Then a friend requested peppermint flavored lip balm. I knew I could use essential oil for that, but it also prompted me to do my homework so I wasn't shortchanging my valued customers if I didn't need to.

It turns out that I can make flavored lip balms safely and responsibly and without all the creepy stuff. So glad I took the time to research it instead of just dismissing what you want without thought. I'll keep you posted as new things become available.

But again I ask. What's your favorite flavor? I'd like to build my stash of flavors and want to know what you want :)

Lotion Launch is now live

The Green Tea Moisturizer by CJ & Vox is now ready.

Each batch is made when you order it and shipped the next day (except Sundays) so you know it's as fresh as it can possibly be.

And because it's all natural, I recommend popping it in the refrigerator for a couple hours when you receive it. It will stay good 2-3 months if you keep it in there when not in use. Out of the fridge, though, should be used within 4-6 weeks.

Ingredients: Green tea, Extra virgin coconut oil, Extra virgin olive oil, Cherry kernel oil and beeswax.

There are no added colors or fragrances but the natural fragrance of the coconut oil does come through.

You can find it at CJ & Vox's Facebook page or at CJ & Vox on etsy

An 8 ounce bottle is $10 plus shipping and a 4 ounce bottle is $6 plus shipping.

Shop Now Tab

Over at my Facebook Page there is a new feature. The Shop Now tab will allow you to see what I have and shop directly from there.

Pictures are limited so if you'd like to see more before you purchase, go to the Photos tab.

Another thing I really love about is the fact that I can do a store wide discount. From now until August 31st fans of CJ & Vox will get 10% off their order at Facebook. This is on top of the Lotion Launch Promo I'm doing as well. Spend $30 or more, get a free lotion, and 10% off.

I also have some more pictures coming later today!!

This fall CJ & Vox will be launching a new spa line!

In preparation for this launch I have decided to offer a free sample to any of my customers between now and August 31st that spend *$30 or more at my etsy shop.

The catch? Well, you’ll have to be a little patient.

The Natural Self line is scheduled to launch October 1st and orders will be filled after this date.

Customers that spend $30 or more between now and August 31st will have their samples sent out first. And any full orders on the new spa line will follow shortly.

Now, grab your friends and have a stroll through the shop!

*Total combined purchase of $30 or more per visit

The more I learn...

...the more I realize I don't know it all. And I love that.

I am slowly learning. The internet is a wonderful thing. One can find anything here.

My etsy shop is getting some much needed attention. I had been so wrapped up in getting inventory there that I hadn't made it very personal. It's the little things :)

This little blog is important to me and I want to be intentional about posting more often. With pictures. Like this one...

Keira commissioned this tote and a matching cosmetic case. I was a little scared of the fabric at first, but when I received it in the mail I fell in love with it. It's edgy and double take worthy and so HER.

My yellow legal pad sits in front of me on my desk. Each day I record my research and I plot my goals. One goal in particular is very important to me. My son. I was reminded this weekend that I do this so I can be home with him. So I don't want it to overrun my time with him, which means I must be very diligent with his nap times and my early mornings to get things done efficiently. It's a balance that I strive to find.

Lip Balm Launch

I always get nervous and excited when I post a new listing and pictures. Will people like it? What if they don't? Then I remind myself how much fun I had creating. It's good for the soul.

I am finally able to launch the lip balm in the picture above. I love it and I hope you do as well. Here's the link with all the info http://www.etsy.com/shop/cjandvox :)

On the horizon

I am in the process of introducing some new things. Beauty products, to be exact. Lip balm will launch soon. I made some lotion today that I will be testing out for a week or two, just to make sure it won't do anything funny to your skin ;)

There are also a couple others in the works. I'm so excited about it all! I hope you enjoy it as well once I can get these things out to you. Thank you for you support.

Getting Off the Ground

I had a few discouraging days. I was out of supplies, not overly motivated, and just downright bummed. Fairly normal for me. Those periods come and go for no particular reason.

Then I went to the grocery store and just enjoyed the quiet and the rain and my iPod and my son contentedly sighing from the backseat. I had an epiphany. I was irrationally afraid of what people would think of me so I was embarrassed to talk about my business. It made me angry to realize that. I shouldn't be ashamed of a hobby that I enjoy that other people seem to respond to as well. It's a gift to do something you love.

So I told everyone i could think of about my http://www.etsy.com/shop/cjandvox and about my http://www.facebook.com/home.php?src=fftb#!/pages/Kalispell-MT/CJ-Vox/123701967654110

etsy and Facebook are my main attractions right now.

A Facebook friend bought a pencil case yesterday morning and her husband told all his friends about me. He then passed the link on to a friend in marketing who passed it on the 1200 of her contacts. I don't know about you, but I find that to be an astronomical number. I woke up with 5 Fans yesterday. This morning there are 54. The power of word of mouth advertising is a little staggering to me. 54 people isn't really that many, but when you think about it, it is. I just wanted something to do with my spare time and now I am out there.

I am floored. And amazed. And completely encouraged. :) I hope you have people in your life that make you feel the same.

Unexpected beginnings

So many things happened yesterday! It was all very unexpected and exciting.

I have been staring at the logo Josh built for me a few weeks ago. I liked it, but I didn't love it and I was having a very hard time communicating what I wanted. So I sat on it. And stewed. Then I found the proper fonts and contacted Josh again. He had it done, polished and ready to go in 10 minutes. It was better, but still not right. Then he tweaked the positioning and I kid you not, I nearly started to cry when he sent over what is now the finished product. I stared at it for a good half hour.

Somewhere in there, I got my etsy shop up and running with Carrie's professional photos and everything. I thought it looked great. I tweeted it and my lovely friends squeed and pimped and fussed and encouraged. It made my productive and tiring day worth it. I finally felt like I was getting somewhere. I was content and ready to let whatever would be to be.

Then I checked my email after dinner. My first sale was posted. I still can't believe it. Colleen was sweet enough to support me. So, I'll be sending her purchase out today. And that will facilitate label purchase. Thank you, muchly!

So, here's to new adventures. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
